1,500 people join Louth leisure centre

11 June 2010 17:00

Women looking to improve their fitness by donning their ladies gym clothing are being given the chance to take advantage of the fitness facilities offered by a Louth leisure centre.

East Lindsey District Council has revealed that more than 1,500 people have now become members of the town's Meridian Leisure Centre.

Along with dance studios and an eight-lane pool, those visiting the facility will also be able to access a fitness suite with 80 stations.

Adam Grist, the council's leisure portfolio holder, noted that the number of members at the centre is larger than the organisation originally envisaged.

He stated: "I am pleased more people in this area are taking part in physical activity to improve their health and wellbeing as a result of the Meridian Leisure Centre being opened."

However, Louth is not the only community that is benefiting from new leisure facilities, with Armley Leisure Centre recently opening in Leeds.
