Almost half of bosses send staff on team-building exercises
27 November 2009 13:07
Lots of women are donning their fitness wear and working out with their colleagues as almost half of bosses send their staff on team-building days.
Research conducted by Intotheblue.co.uk shows that 48 per cent of managing directors are getting their male employees to change into fitness clothing and females to don their ladies sportswear and take part in team-building days that involve activities such as paint balling, clay pigeon shooting, and gorge walking.
Chris Brown, managing director of sunshine.co.uk took his staff on a day out paint balling last year. He said: "All of my team thoroughly enjoyed it, we all mucked in and took it as an adventure. It was a bit of a risk as I wasn't sure if the older members of the team would enjoy it, but they loved taking charge and giving the younger members a good run for their money."
Earlier this month Matt Birtles, an ergonomist at the Health and Safety Laboratory, said that women should try to exercise as much as possible, even when in the office.
