Women need to don their ladies sportswear more often and improve their fitness according to new research, which found the average Brit gasps for breath after running for the bus.
Welch's Purple Grape Juice carried out the study of 2,000 people and more than a fifth also admitted to being out of breath after going up some stairs.
Four in ten told researchers that they need to sit down and get their breath back after mowing their lawns.
A spokesperson from Welch's Purple Grape Juice said: ''The results of the survey show that there's a real need for people to be more conscious of their health and fitness."
They added that using stairs instead of a lift or getting off the bus one stop early will "go someway to improving general fitness".
According to the NHS, adults should do 30 minutes of exercise five times a week. This can include a brisk walk, as long as it raises the heart rate and quickens the rate of breathing.
It also recommends and going jogging, cycling or weight training, possibly in ladies sportswear, as good ways to improve health and fitness.
