England women's rugby team captain Catherine Spencer is looking forward to the opportunity to compete on home soil.
She explained that she expects "brilliant" support for the team at the event, which is due to begin in a year's time on August 20th 2010.
The International Rugby Board event is set to take place in London and will see second-ranked England attempting to wrestle the trophy from the grasp of reigning champions New Zealand.
England are due to don their women's sportswear play New Zealand on three dates in November ahead of the World Cup on the 14th, 17th and 21st, which will no doubt serve as good preparation.
Ms Spencer explained: "We haven't played them since the last World Cup so we don't really know too much about them.
"We think we have developed as a squad, as players individually and as a team, so we are very much looking forward to seeing where we are in November."
Twelve teams are due to take part in the World Cup next year. Four of these sides may be drawn from those competing in the Women's Nations Cup, which is currently taking place.
