A number of young people in Scotland may have been encouraged to don their ladies sportswear recently, following an event which featured a British Olympics star.
Hannah Miley took the time to visit the country's Danestone School last week, where she talked about the need for people to try their hand at sports.
The swimmer chatted with classes in the school, while also taking part in an assembly.
Graeme Dale, the coordinator of Active Schools Aberdeen, which helped to organise the event, noted the excitement that the sports star's visit created among pupils.
He stated: "The whole school was very excited at the thought of an Olympic champion visiting the school."
Meanwhile, those involved in Scotland's grassroots sports sector might benefit from new funding which the country's government is due to make available in the near future.
Cashback for Communities money will be pledged to support certain sporting activities.
