Women should carry on exercising in their gym clothing even if they have the misfortune of breaking a bone or two.
This is according to the London Evening Standard's Victoria Stewart, who broke two fingers at a music festival but has been striving to keep fit during the healing process.
Ms Stewart visited a gym in Piccadilly and spoke to its founder Pierre Meyer, who helps people with all sorts of ailments to exercise.
"You don't need to be a top athlete. Our trained rehabilitators work alongside our trainers to fill in that gap between injury and training," Mr Meyer said.
Ms Stewart was then shown a whole host of exercises that she can do that do not require the use of her left hand, including a session on a stationary bike and floor work such as squats and the plank.
Researchers from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden recently suggested that those who have just undergone certain surgeries should also exercise.
They found that people who exercise after shoulder surgery enjoy a speedier recovery than those who do not.
