Cancer Research UK is encouraging women to put on their ladies running wear and enter a special Race for Life event in memory of Jade Goody.
The 5 km run will take place on Sunday, June 6th in the reality TV star's adopted home county of Essex.
Jade died of cervical cancer a year ago yesterday (March 22nd) and her friends are calling on women to take part in the commemorative event.
Jennifer Smith, one of Jade's best friends and bridesmaids, said: "We know that Jade's cancer battle raised awareness of cervical cancer, especially among younger women, and we're eager to ensure that more people are educated on the signs, symptoms and risks of cancer."
Cancer Research UK hopes that 2,000 women will enter the organised event, which is to take place on what would have been Jade's 29th birthday weekend.
According to the NHS, taking regular exercise can reduce the risk of developing cancer by 25 per cent.
Donning ladies fitness clothing and for a brisk walk or walking up a hill are ways the NHS recommends people can get their heart pumping.
