Carrie Underwood: I'm thankful for personal trainer 'kicking my butt'

Celebrities also need a little bit of encouragement when it comes to sticking to their fitness regime in their women's gym wear, it has been claimed.

Speaking to Ottowa radio station Grecosize, country singer Carrie Underwood said that she is committed to fighting her "potato chip weight" ahead of her wedding to hockey ace Mike Fisher.

However, the 26-year-old - who admits that genetics are "not exactly on my side" - is thankful for her personal trainer Tony Greco for "kicking my butt".

"I need it. Especially with a tour coming up and a wedding to look good for," she explained.

A guiding hand may also be beneficial to a great many more women donning ladies fitness wear at their local gym, new research suggests, with negative emotions found to outweigh the intention to exercise at health clubs among some people.

Researchers at the George Washington University Medical Center found that this was particularly the case with overweight individuals, who often feel embarrassed or intimidated about exercising.
