Women in Chester will be donning their ladies fitness wear next month and attending a boot camp for a post-Christmas detox.

Those that over-indulged over the festive period can shed a few pounds and improve their fitnessat the boot camp run by fitness instructors Jane Makin and Carly McKay, icCheshireOnline.co.uk reported.

Speaking to the website, Ms McKay said: "A winter detox is perfect after Christmas, when we all over indulge and is in line with the government's healthy lifestyle promotion, through their Change4Life scheme, of which we are a local partner."

Exercise sessions will take place twice a week for eight weeks at Boughton Heath County Primary School, Great Boughton.

Ms McKay said that the programme is not just about getting women to put on their ladies fitness wear and exercising, it is about changing unhealthy lifestyle habits.

The NHS advises women to keep active through the winter so that they do not lose the fitness they gained over the summer.
