Coleen Nolan: Exercise boosts mood and energy levels

Coleen Nolan claims she has never felt better and has been encouraging women to don their ladies fitness wear and exercise more, saying this will improve their mood and energy levels.

Nolan, who is a panel member on TV show Loose Women, turns 45 next month and wrote in a piece for the Mirror that, as she has got older, she has become more aware of how important it is to stay active and lead a healthy lifestyle.

The mum-of-two explained that she was unhappy with the way she looked when she was overweight and had self-esteem issues.

"But now I've managed to change my shape and have learned to feel happy in my own skin," she added.

She went on to explain that exercising - even just a brisk walk around the block in ladies fitness wear - will "wake you up" and "make you more energetic".

As National Heart Month is now in its final week, women up and down the country are doing as Nolan recommends and donning their gym clothing to take part in sponsored exercise activities to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
