Corby women have been putting on their ladies' fitness wear all of this week as part of a new health programme.
Rural health week comes to a close today (October 2nd) and has been marked with a series of health checks and advice sessions since Monday, September 28th.
Health checks, including blood pressure and body mass index measuring sessions, have been complemented by activities including massages, relaxation therapies and salsacize.
Leader of the organising Corby Borough Council Pat Fawcett explained that the sessions were targeted at those that may not have considered health advice before.
"We want everyone in Corby to have access to health and wellbeing sessions so I am very pleased that we are delivering this programme in villages throughout Rural Health Week and I'm sure many will benefit from it," she said.
Meanwhile, recent research by scientists at the University of Warwick indicated that women that put on weight approaching middle age are up to 80 per cent less likely to enjoy a healthy old age.
