Research has shown that putting on ladies fitness wear and exercising regularly can make women appear more youthful, but a leading physician has warned that an increasing number of women are putting themselves in danger by going under the knife to knock off the years.
Paul Collins, editor of BuyAssociation, a website with a section dedicated to giving advice on cosmetic surgery, said the cosmetic surgery industry needs to be properly regulated because some establishments "take advantage of the trusting nature of the public".
He added that the safety of patients is of the utmost importance but that some practitioners are prioritising fiscal gain instead.
His comments follow the publication of an article by Dr Michael Mercer earlier this week, in which the physician claimed that patients are putting themselves in danger when indulging in aesthetic surgery because of a lack of industry regulation.
Research published last month by PruHealth found that a lack of exercise and poor diet is making women feel older.
Shaun Matisonn, chief executive officer at PruHealth, advised women to put on their ladies fitness wear and exercise regularly to make them look and feel younger.
