Women should don their ladies fitness wear and get exercising as the Department for Health has advised people to "keep as active as possible" to stay well and warm this winter.
The department is urging people to take a number of steps to make sure they do not suffer in the cold over the coming months, including wearing several light layers of warm clothes.
Public health minister Gillian Merron explained that the government's Keep Warm Keep Well campaign gives important advice to people on how to stay fit and healthy through the winter.
"Keep warm keep well leaflets are available in local GPs' surgeries, pharmacies or council offices," she added.
Another suggestion from the campaign is to have regular hot drinks and at least one hot meal a day.
According to the NHS, exercise, such as a jogging in ladies running wear, helps the body to keep warm as it improves circulation and generates heat. It said that exercise also boosts the immune system, killing off winter viruses.
