Disabled people eager to exercise in their men's and women's gym clothing can now have their needs met by specially trained members of staff at some Fitness First centres.
A group of the health club operator's gyms have now been accredited through the National Sports Foundation Programme run by the Inclusive Fitness Initiative.
Fitness First is not only creating accessible facilities, but is engaging people with disabilities in physical activity.
John Gamble, managing director of the company, said: "Fitness First is committed to making the world a fitter place with no exclusions and we are pleased to be making these changes with immediate effect."
He went on to say that he is proud that Fitness First is the first major health club group in the UK to commit to the National Sports Foundation Programme.
Earlier in the year, Aspire, an association that supports people with spinal injuries, installed four KRANKcycles in its National Training Centre's gym.
These machines are designed to help wheelchair-bound people to exercise and improve their fitness.
