Physical activity can aid women with all kinds of medical conditions, they just need to don their ladies fitness clothing and find the right exercise for them, one commentator has suggested.
Those with angina should consider taking part in regular moderate aerobic exercise such as walking, yoga and tai chi, Deborah Daley wrote in a health feature for the Daily Express.
Women suffering from headaches and migraines, however, should put on their gym clothing and take up cycling and Pilates as these exercises increase the production of endorphins, which are often low in headache sufferers.
Ms Daley goes on to advise those with osteoporosis to take up running, tennis and dancing, as these are all good for stressing the bones and forcing them to become stronger.
Earlier this month, researchers from the Sint Maartenskliniek Hospital in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, recommended that osteoporosis sufferers attend martial arts classes.
The falls taught in these sessions can decrease hip impact forces and reduce the occurrence of fractures, the researchers claimed.
