Don ladies yoga wear to keep trim like Ellen DeGeneres

16 April 2010 09:54

Those who want a slim figure like Ellen DeGeneres may want to don their ladies yoga clothing and take up her favourite form of exercise - power yoga.

Speaking to Shape magazine, the chat-show host revealed that, as a youngster, she preferred tomboy pursuits, playing sports and running around.

Now, however, the star said she favours sessions with her wife, Portia De Rossi, and yoga teacher or "yogi".

"He's so amazing, his energy is so calming. For someone like me, who loves to sweat and push herself, it's a challenge to slow down, to sit, to breathe and hold poses," she explained.

Her yoga sessions usually last from anywhere between an hour and an hour-and-a-half.

Back in December 2009, another celebrity, Trudie Styler, voiced her love for the Indian form of meditation.

The wife of musician Sting told the Daily Mail that she practices yoga for between 45 minutes and 90 minutes every day, regardless of where in the world she is.
