Putting on ladies fitness wear and being physically active could prevent cancer, according to the World Cancer Research Fund.
Recent research, published in the British Medical Journal, has shown that those that survive childhood cancer are more at risk of developing cardiovascular disease later in life.
Dr Rachel Thompson, science programme manager from the World Cancer Research Fund, said that while there is new evidence linking cancer and later heart disease, there is only limited evidence on how cancer survivors can reduce their risk of cancer recurring.
"In the absence of better evidence, the best approach is to follow the general recommendations for cancer prevention," she said.
"These include following a healthy diet, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight," Ms Thompson added.
The British Heart foundation also recommends regular exercise, perhaps in ladies fitness wear, as a way of reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and, therefore, the risk of premature death.
