Dog owners can do much more than put on their ladies fitness clothing and take their pets out for a walk to keep fit, according to a professional dog trainer.
Paddy Driscoll, canine trainer and behaviour specialist, told Gary King of the Telegraph that there are lots of different sporting activities that people can engage in with their dogs.
"What many people don't realise is that, whatever your own physical capabilities are, you can still do something with your dog," said Mr Driscoll.
He recommended taking part in agility sessions, like those seen on Crufts.
These involve negotiating obstacle courses and require running, jumping over poles and other apparatus, bending and stretching.
"It's a perfect light aerobic workout," Mr King writes in a piece for the newspaper.
The NHS suggests dog walking as one great way for people to get their recommended amount of weekly exercise in their ladies fitness wear.
It also advises getting off the bus early and walking the rest of the way home or to work.
