Donning ladies yoga wear 'helps to treat post-traumatic stress disorder'

Those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder should try putting on their ladies yoga clothing and giving the exercise a go, as it has been helping US war veterans with the medical condition.

Battle Body Relaxation Yoga Sessions are being offered to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars at VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, the local public radio station WUWM has reported.

Andy Hendrickson, a registered nurse at the centre and ex-army member, leads the yoga classes.

"I started practicing it every night to help myself sleep and calm down from having to deal with all the blown up people all day long," the 55-year-old explained.

The radio station reports that the session's attendees do not wear specialist yoga clothing but gym wear instead - T-shirts and sweatpants - and use yoga mats.

Last week, Reebok fitness trainer Vinita Shetty suggested to The Hindu that women practicing the Indian form of meditation should wear loose cotton ladies yoga clothing.
