Women who want to keep fit but do not fancy braving the winter elements should try donning their ladies fitness wear and downloading one of the many fitness and exercise applications available on the iPhone, it has been claimed.
In a health and families feature for the Independent, novice exercisers are recommended to try the iFitness application, which has a database of 230 exercises and 100 video demonstrations of different fitness activities.
iPhone users can select one of 12 workout programmes depending on their goal - such as weight loss or strength building. Their exercise progress and frequency is recorded by the application and is compiled in graph form.
The newspaper also mentions the RunKeeper Free. This application used GPS technology to track how far the user has travelled and the time it has taken them. Music can be played while running the application, although the newspaper warns that this does drain the gadget's battery very quickly.
Those that do not have an iPhone but like the idea of being able to exercise in their own homes in their ladies fitness clothing, may want to try a fitness DVD. Jennifer Aniston has recently appeared at the start of a yoga DVD, saying that the form of exercise 'changed her life'.
