Drink lots of water for good skin

A healthy diet and exercise, such as regular runs, cycles or swims in ladies triathlon clothing, are well known to improve overall health, but a good diet and drinking lots of water can also improve skin condition, according to Saks.

Kirsty Jewson, Saks beauty guru, recommends foods that are high in essential fatty acids, such as oily fish and flax seeds as being good for improving complexion.

"You are what you eat so as well as a good skincare routine you should look at what foods you are eating," she explained.

Ms Jewson went on to say that foods containing a high amount of antioxidants, such as berries, spinach and other greens all have "excellent skin benefiting properties such as anti ageing".

According to the NHS, there are around 24 million overweight or obese people in the UK and this number could be reduced if everyone ate a healthy diet, as recommended by Ms Jewson, and became more physically active.
