Professional triathlete Emma Moffatt is to don her ladies fitness wear and compete in the opener of the ITU World Championship Series on Sunday (April 11th).
This will be her first big race since she was involved in a bike crash in January, which resulted in her sustaining a shoulder fracture.
Triathlon Australia high performance director Michael Flynn told the Sydney Morning Herald that Emma is a tough athlete and should not be underestimated.
"It's a bit unpredictable, because [she] hasn't had a chance to race, but ... I think she will race very well," Mr Flynn said.
"She'll put herself in a position to give herself a chance to win," he added.
Emma won the championships last year so is hoping to hang on to the title this year. She also won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games wearing versatile ladies fitness wear that allowed her to swim, run and cycle comfortably.
