People feeling dissatisfied with their lives should don their men's or ladies fitness clothing and exercise more to improve this, a study has suggested.
Researchers from the University of Rhode Island found that watching high levels of television is preventing some people from seeking life satisfaction.
It also found that the myriad of medical dramas and documentaries currently on broadcast schedules is increasing people's knowledge of illnesses, diseases and conditions and leading them to think they are more likely to suffer from these maladies.
The participants in the study ranged in age from 18 to 31 - a group that is associated with vitality.
"While this surveyed group shows dissatisfaction, I suspect that if I surveyed a more general population the dissatisfaction would be even higher," said the study's leader Yinjiao Ye, assistant professor of communications studies.
Back in August, researchers from Boston University School of Medicine found that a particular form of exercise - yoga - can improve people's moods and reduce their anxiety levels.
