Exercise, perhaps in ladies fitness clothing, improves the quality of life of adults who are at risk of heart disease, a study has suggested.
A report in the September 13th issue of Archives of Internal Medicine details how lifestyle intervention that incorporates exercise training and diet counselling in primary health care settings appears to improve the quality of life of adults who are at a moderate to high risk of heart disease.
The report also explains that this intervention is more cost-effective compared to standard care.
"Extensive and intensive lifestyle intervention programmes delay the onset of diabetes mellitus and reduce cardiovascular risk by increasing physical activity, reducing [obesity] and making changes in dietary habits," the authors of the report explained.
Last month, researchers from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden reported that women who exercise after shoulder surgery enjoy a speedier recovery and better quality of life than those who just rest.
