Women having trouble sleeping should don their ladies fitness clothing and exercise more regularly, a personal trainer has suggested.
Fitness studio owner Mike Bates, writing for the Windsor Star, claimed that people who start exercising more will experience the best sleep they have had in years.
He said that lack of sleep is one of the biggest causes of stress in people, which, in turn, can lead to both short-term and long-term health problems.
"Exercise helps to ensure the body is working at an optimal level. It has an impact on thousands of bodily functions, including sleep," Mr Bates wrote.
He asserted that those who exercise regularly have more energy and claimed that when these people feel under the weather, a workout helps them to feel better.
Last month, therapist Dr Nerina Ramlakhan gave the Independent a more in-depth explanation as to how exercise improves sleep.
It aids the production of a "complex concoction of hormones" which helps people to wind down and fall asleep, she said.
