Regular aerobic exercise in ladies fitness clothing may help to improve respiratory symptoms and psychological distress in adult female asthma sufferers, a study has suggested.
The research, conducted in Brazil and published in the August issue of Chest, involved the study of 101 patients with asthma.
These participants were split into two groups - including a control group of 50 patients who received educational programming and underwent breathing exercises.
In the other group, 51 patients underwent additional aerobic training as well as educational programming and breathing exercises.
After three months, the aerobic training group noted an improvement in quality of life scores, anxiety and depression levels and an increase in asthma symptom-free days.
The results also showed that the bigger the improvement in aerobic capacity, the more days patients went without suffering from asthma symptoms.
Last year, the Sun reported that asthmatic Sharon Williamson lost eight stone through exercise.
Since her weight loss, the 52-year-old has been signed by several modelling agencies as an older model.
