Women who have invested in ladies fitness clothing and enlisted the help of a personal trainer should ask their chosen professional lots of questions, it has been claimed.

Larry Collins, writing in a piece for Tampa Bay Online, said that the more questions a person asks of their new trainer, the more confident they will be that the fitness advisor is qualified.

He went on to say that personal trainers should be able to provide references of previous or current clients and should have a degree in an exercise-related field.

They should also have an up-to-date first aid certificate and possess liabilities insurance.

"The more questions you ask, the better informed you will be and the better the experience you will have," Mr Collins writes.

A report published in the September 13th issue of Archives of Internal Medicine detailed how exercise can improve the quality of life of adults who are at risk of heart disease.
