A person's home can be their gym, according to an expert.
Speaking to CTV Health, Dr Grant Lum explained that women's fitness wear should be reserved for the home as a lot of money is unnecessarily spent being a member of the gym when everything can be done at home, most notably core training.
He said: "Training your core can increase the likelihood that you can prevent an injury by protecting your back but also it helps to generate more power for your favourite sport. So core training is a prevention tool and a performance tool."
Dr Lum recommended that women invest in a therapy ball, which are perfect for exercising the abdominal and spinal areas, while so-called "quick-change dumbbells" are cheap and allow for repetitive exercises and expansion to a higher level.
Weightlifting gloves are also necessary, he concluded, as they can prevent injuries such as tennis or golfer's elbow from actions which are brought about by a lack of grip.
Personal trainer Gideon Samuels recently told the Times of South Africa that women may want to replace their work chair with a fitness ball in order to help them to do more exercise at their desk.
