Food and yoga classes combined

29 January 2010 14:32

The latest craze in New York is seeing women tuck into their favourite foods - such as chocolate, wine and gourmet dishes - immediately after finishing their activity in yoga wear, it has been revealed.

According to the New York Times, the latest fitness trends are seeing women across the city served the grub while still in their ladies yoga wear.

The news provider added that the idea allows people to enjoy the food while in a heightened state of awareness and relaxation immediately after finishing their class.

Teacher David Romanelli told the newspaper: "It's a way of getting people in the door. The world is a better place if people do yoga. And if they come because chocolate or wine is involved, I'm fine with it."

Earlier this week, studies by researchers at the University of Michigan found that eating a low-calorie meal after a workout is not essential as insulin sensitivity is not greatly affected by eating lighter foods after a session at the gym. ADNFCR-2569-ID-19586841-ADNFCR
