Free Liverpool events encourage women to don ladies fitness wear

Two free events encouraging people to don their gym wear take up a more fit and active lifestyle are taking place in Liverpool this weekend.

Tomorrow, February 6th, Olympic and Commonwealth medal winning cyclist Rob Hayles wil be joining bikers of all ages and abilities in a bike ride starting at Lifestyles Walton fitness centre at noon.

The ride will pass along the Liverpool Loop Line Trans Pennine Trail to the National Wildflower Centre.

On Sunday, the Lifestyles Tennis Centre in Wavertree will host the Festival of Health and Activity.

Starting at 10:30 GMT, the festival will feature over 80 exhibitors showcasing different sports, including football, dance and yoga.

Ron Gould, Liverpool's executive member for health, said: "These two events are a great chance to find out how easy it is to get involved in a more active lifestyle."

Lorraine Tighe, who appeared on BBC show the Apprentice last year, recently told Closer magazine that she had lost two stone through taking up a more active lifestyle and healthier diet.
