The big trends in the world of exercise next year will be dancing, charity fundraising events and "green fitness", according to Women's Fitness.
Joanne Knight, editor at the magazine, said: "Green fitness will be big next year: Whether it's getting fit in the great outdoors or making sure that your workout doesn't leave a huge carbon footprint".
Ms Knight said that dancing will continue to be a big craze as programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice have "really inspired people to get back on the dance floor".
She added that charities are pushing to get more people raising money through activity and exercise in women's fitness wear.
"Charities are developing more and more exciting trips that really test people's fitness and give them something to aim for," she said.
A survey on behalf of Friends Provident released this week found that an encouraging 55 per cent of those surveyed frequently exercise for 30 minutes, five days per week.
