Women living or working in London's Shepherd's Bush now have more opportunity to don their ladies fitness clothing and exercise as a new gym has opened in the area.

Health club operator Gym Box has opened a new 19,650 sq ftflagship gym on the upper level of the Westfield shopping centre, leisuremanagement.co.uk reports.

The gym features a variety of fitness equipment, including 100 cardiovascular machines, which were provided by Life Fitness.

It also boasts an indoor sprint track, an Olympic-size boxing ring, a large free weights area and a number of different exercise classes.

Richard Hilton, managing director of Gym Box, told the website that the new Westfield Gym Box was to be the company's "most exciting offer to date".

"The club design will be contemporary, exciting and original and will accentuate the natural daylight and spectacular views of London," he added.

Earlier this week, the Enfield Independent reported that Southbury Leisure Centre in Endfield was to be refurbished and improved.
