Gwyneth Paltrow started to exercise, perhaps in her ladies fitness wear, when she realised that she had post-natal depression.
The star has revealed that it was her husband, Coldplay front-man Chris Martin, who spotted the signs of the depression, which the actress experienced after the birth of their son Moses in 2006.
Gwyneth, 37, told British Vogue magazine that, at times, she felt like a robot as she did not experience any emotions.
"I had no maternal feelings for Moses - it was awful," she added.
Gwyneth said that it was a relief when her husband finally worked out what the problem was: "That was when I cracked it - I started exercising and I started thinking about working again."
The mum-of-two was spotted recently leaving the gym wearing a pair of large sunglasses and her ladies fitness clothing.
She wore a simple white top with a pair of casual black cut-off trousers and silver and black trainers.
