Health club members to don gym clothing for charity fundraiser

Staff and members at Bannatyne's Health Club in Newport will be donning their gym clothing later this month to raise money for charity Unicef.

On Saturday, May 22nd, they will take part in the Soccer Aid initiative which aims to fund projects to help children around the world, the South Wales Argus reports.

Other activities planned for that weekend include a sponsored 'keepy-uppy' challenge that will see people don their men's and women's fitness wear and see how long they can keep a football or balloon off the ground for.

The 60 Banntyne's health clubs in the UK, including the Newport centre, will also run special simultaneous spinning classes.

According to spinning.com, spinning is a popular exercise because it helps people to reach their fitness goals without them having to learn any complicated moves.

It involves riding a stationary bike to music while being instructed by a fitness expert to pedal at various different speeds and intensities.
