Multiple sclerosis (MS) sufferers who want to don their ladies fitness clothing and exercise more will find interactive computer games, such as Nintendo's Wii Fit, helpful.
This is according to Jon Graham, clinical director of PhysioFunction - a leading provider of independent neurological physiotherapy.
He claims that the at-home exercise games can help MS sufferers to "improve their posture by strengthening their abdominal muscles and back muscles".
"They can improve their balance in standing by strengthening their hip and leg muscles," Mr Graham went on to say.
His comments follow a study by Cambridge and Edinburgh University researchers, who said that damage caused by MS could be reversed by activating stem cells that can repair injury in the central nervous system.
The scientists believe that their findings will help in the identification of drugs to encourage myelin repair in multiple sclerosis patients.
Mr Graham said that the discoveries could lead to sufferers regaining control of their posture and movement.
