Those stripping off their layers of ladies fitness wear while exercising in the increasingly warmer temperatures brought by spring should start thinking about investing in a tanning product, a salon owner has suggested.
Belinda Price, owner of Huddersfield-based salon Nailspa and finalist in the Professional Beauty Awards 2010, said that, last year, women were reaching for the fake tan much earlier than April.
"[Demand for tanning] has been unusually quiet this year so far, a complete contrast to last year. I put the quiet spell down to it being too cold to take your clothes off," she added.
The expert recommended moisturisers containing a hint of self-tan product as good options for people wanting a paler tan that they can use themselves at home.
While the use of sun beds and sunlamps at tanning salons may produce a lovely golden tan, the NHS warns that these can increase the risks of developing skin cancer.
It also warns that over-exposure to sunlight is the biggest cause of people getting this type of cancer, so those who bare a lot of skin while outside exercising in their ladies fitness wear may want to put on a layer of sun cream before they head out of the door.
