Jane Fonda to release fitness DVDs aimed at baby boomers

Women in their mid-40s to mid-60s are being encouraged to don their ladies fitness wear as new exercise DVDs aimed at baby boomers are to be released by Jane Fonda.

The 72-year-old actress released a series of hit workout videos in the 1980s and 1990s, including Jane Fonda's Complete Workout and Jane Fonda's Pregnancy, Birth and Recovery Workout.

She is set to begin filming for the two new DVDs in March but wrote in her blog that they will not be released until early next year.

The DVDs are to also target her own age group.

"I want to get to people who have stopped working out, or never did … I can't wait," she has written.

Fonda went on to ask her fans what she should wear for the videos and suggests she is curious to hear what ladies fitness wear they recommend.

According to Bupa, women considering taking up running should make sure they have a decent pair of trainers, a sports bra and comfortable clothing, which could include bamboo sportswear.
