Women undergoing rehabilitation to overcome injuries or diseases could benefit from putting on their ladies fitness wear and using the Nintendo Wii Fit, recent research has suggested.
Skyline's adaptive physical education department is using the exercise-based computer game to improve the coordination and balance of patients, the Skyline View reports.
The game allows participants to set fitness goals and records their progress.
This also helps the study's creators, Skyline biology professor Shari Bookstaff and adaptive physical education professor Chip Chandler, to compare the recovery of injury patients using "Wii-hab" to that of those undergoing traditional rehab.
"We know it does help people recovering from brain injuries - we just have to prove it works. We're on the cutting edge here and we feel really good about it," said Mr Chandler.
Back in December, the Associated Press reported Dr Stanley Hazen, preventive cardiology and rehabilitation chief at the Cleveland Clinic, as saying that exercise is a crucial part of rehabilitation from heart attacks.
He suggested, however, that this does not have to include donning gym wear, "grimacing and jogging around the track".
