Donning ladies fitness wear is a key way to keeping healthy no matter how old you are, it has been claimed.

The City Journal has highlighted the benefits of opting for lower-intensity, longer workouts as a gentle way for older women to get the benefits of exercise without putting unnecessary strain on their bodies.

It advises: "Pace yourself so you don't burn out on exercise. Vary your type of fitness training such that you do two of strength training every week and some sort of cardio exercise five days a week."

In addition to donning ladies fitness wear, the newspaper also highlights the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle more generally, including improving diets in order to boost heart health and cut the risk of diabetes.
