No matter what fad diets promise, it will always be important for those looking to lose weight to don their ladies fitness wear and hit the gym, a source has claimed.
The Daily Mirror has quashed claims that the best wayto drop pounds is by subscribing to the latest miracle weight-loss plan and highlighted the fact that the tried-and-tested method of exercise remains the best.
"At the end of the day, if you eat more calories than you expend you will gain weight. And if you eat fewer calories than you use, you'll lose weight," it reported.
Among the key diet misconceptions on the market are that miracle foods such as coconut oil, grapefruit and cabbage are the key to losing weight, that following inflexible diets can be successful or that eating foods in specific combinations is the secret to losing weight.
One technique that McMaster University professor Martin Gibala has suggested for those wearing gym wear is interval training, which he has concluded is suitable for everybody.
