Mothers in the US are being invited to don their ladies yoga wear and to take to working out with their babies.
Kristin Holtz, writing for Shakopee News, has revealed that the Shakopee Early Childhood Family Education class is using yoga as a way to boost the bond between parent and child.
A series of poses are used where the baby is held in its mother's arms and incorporates stretches, lifts and flexes.
One mother involved in the course, Elizabeth Hallstein, revealed that it was hard work but worth it.
"It's like weight training. It's a good way for me to ease back into working out," she explained.
The courses are being run in the US by instructor Susan Colvin, who experienced it four years ago and became a certified instructor as a result.
Earlier this month, women from Norfolk were encouraged to don their ladies fitness wear and to begin leading more active lifestyles.
