When selecting clothing for yoga or Pilates, women should look for ladies yoga wear that is quite close-fitting, but that can stretch in all directions, according to an award-winning beauty and health journalist.
In a piecefor the health section of the Times, Alice Hart-Davis writes that selecting the correct ladies fitness clothing is important before embarking on an exercise regimen.
She explains that relatively tight ladies yoga clothing is necessary because the fitness class instructor needs to be able to see what the class attendees' bodies are doing.
"Also, should you choose to stand on your head, you don't want a top that falls down to your armpits, blinding you and revealing your midriff," she continued.
Ms Hart-Davis recommended leggings or running tights that "don't flap around your ankles" as the best ladies running clothing and wrote that women should look for seam-free tops, as these do not cause chafing.
According to Bupa, the only items of ladies running wear that are essential are a good pair of trainers and a supportive sports bra.
