Women's fitness wear will be necessary in Merseyside this weekend during the latest Cycle Speke! ride.
Participants have the opportunity to escape the city on Sunday (February 7th) and tour the country lanes around Tarbock and Netherley.
Organisers are hoping that cyclists will have the opportunity to see parts of Speke and Liverpool that they may have otherwise not laid eyes on before, while the event also allows people to meet fellow cycle enthusiasts.
Participants will depart Speke's Austin Rawlinson Lifestyles at 14:00 and head to Hale, Tarbock and Netherley at a leisurely pace before arriving back at the starting point after two-and-a-half hours.
The ride is part of the Cycling Sunday initiative, with further events in Speke taking place on March 7th and April 4th.
Organisers are hoping to attract cyclists of all abilities, including those that haven't been on two wheels for a little while.
Liverpool City Council wants to see a ten per cent increase in the number of journeys made by bike by March 2011.
