Madonna refused by yoga guru

02 November 2009 21:21

Madonna has been refused private lessons by famous yoga guru Bikram Choudhury.

Mr Choudhury said the singer would have to don her women's yoga wear and join one of his group sessions, insisting that none of his other celebrity clients, which include George Clooney, Jessica Simpson and Jim Carrey, have ever objected to his group classes.

"Madonna came to me and asked for private lessons. I told her that if you want to learn from me, then you have to come to my classes. You have to leave your ego behind," said Choudhury.

"If you disagree with her, you are immediately blacklisted," he added.

Yoga is a low-impact exercise involving stretches and deep breathing techniques. It can improve flexibility and posture and relax both body and mind, according to the NHS.

It also said that low-impact exercises can improve your health and fitness without harming weight-bearing joints.

Research suggests that moderate intensity, low-impact activity, such as yoga in bamboo yoga wear is just as effective as high-impact activity in lowering the risk of heart disease.ADNFCR-2569-ID-19439071-ADNFCR
