Most Brits 'do not don gym wear and take part in sport'

Women in the UK love to watch when it comes to sport, but are not as enthusiastic when it comes to donning their ladies sportswear and participating in physical activities, according to recent research.

The Mars Refuel Drink Fund found that less than half of Brits currently take part in sports activities.

Around the same amount confessed that the only bit of physical exertion that they are ever faced with is running for the occasional bus.

But Helen Jenkins, British triathlete and former world champion said that Brits can be encouraged to take part in a sport by finding the one that suits them.

She said: "There are so many different kinds out there and there is a different sport for everyone."

"I think it is about finding the sports which suit you best," she added.

Ms Jenkins went on to suggest that there are a lot of factors that put women off donning their ladies sportswear and getting active, such as the weather and time constraints.

"It is just about fitting it into what we can," she concluded.
