Mothers-to-be 'should put on fitness wear for yoga'

A women's fitness expert who has worked with celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow has explained how ladies sportswear may become a fixture in the lives of expectant mothers.

Speaking to Reuters Life!, Elena Brower, a yoga instructor from New York City, said that yoga can help women remain fit and healthy but can do so much more for the mind, body and soul.

She explained: "It's about teaching women how to safely strengthen their abdominals, and strengthening is complemented by learning how to stretch, so that you can be as limber as possible when that baby comes."

Furthermore, Ms Brower asserted that yoga can also allow a women to understand themselves better, adding that expectant mothers donning their gym wear for the activity can have a level of presence which can put the contractions or pain in another place, making it a breathing exercise.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Jennifer Aniston was wearing gym clothes regularly after she claimed that yoga has changed her life.
