Natural remedies 'can relieve symptoms of common ailments'

For those that do not like taking medicines, exercise can help to relieve the symptoms of some ailments, but natural remedies can also be effective, according to a doctor.

Dr Mike Smith said that many natural remedies, when taken correctly, have been proven to relieve the symptoms of many common ailments.
He said that many people reach for the medicine cabinet too quickly and would benefit from side-effect-free homeopathic pills.

His comments follow recent research by Newcastle University, which found that a herbal remedy made from Brazilian mint was as effective as an aspirin-style pain relief drug.

This research was conducted on mice but the team now hope to conduct clinical trials on humans.

The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee is currently conducting research into the effectiveness of homeopathy.

Recent research, published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, showed that exercise, which could be done in women's gym clothing, was effective for reducing pain in female office workers who suffered from shoulder and neck problems.ADNFCR-2569-ID-19482819-ADNFCR
