Wandsworth Borough Council has teamed up with the NHS to encourage people to exercise in local parks.
The council has introduced the new scheme as part of its commitment to the government's Change4Life campaign, which aims to encourage families to get more active.
Locals have been invited to attend a series of walks in their men's and women's fitness wear, which will be taking place in a range of parks and commons across the borough.
There will be at least one walk taking place on each weekday, lasting for about an hour and with trained instructors offering fitness advice and guidance.
Walking has been proven to lower blood pressure and stress levels and is also an effective way of managing weight, the council claims, with its organised walks completely free to attend and requiring no prior booking.
The fitness meetings will be taking place at a range of picturesque locations, including Battersea Park, Putney Heath, Clapham Common and Wandsworth Park.
