New exercise opportunities come to Devon

New exercise opportunities come to Devon

07 September 2010 12:57

Women in Devon will have greater opportunity to don their ladies fitness clothing and exercise with the opening of a new gym.

Building work has commenced at the 17,265sq ft unit under the Derry's Cross Travelodge hotel in Plymouth,thisisdevon.co.uk reports.

It is to be transformed into a 24-hour fitness centre operated by the Gym Group (TGG).

The 175-station gym is expected to open in October or November this year, the budget health club operator said.

"We are delighted to have secured an up-and-coming national operator such as TGG for this substantial, city centre leisure opportunity," Paul Heather, an associate director of estate agents Christie and Co, told the news provider.

The newly-acquired unit is thought to have been empty since the building containing it was opened in late 2003.

Back in July, the Oxford Mail reported that construction had started on a new leisure facility on Waynflete Road in Oxford.
