Women will be successful in losing their post-baby weight if they persist at donning their gym clothing and exercising regularly.

This is according to celebrity fitness trainer Steve Halsall, who said that new mums tend to worry about the amount of weight they have put on and the lack of energy they have.

"As long as they are persistent over time they will get back in shape," he assured.

Mr Halsall went on to suggest that women should give themselves a timeframe of around nine months to improve their fitness and get their figures back to how they used to be.

His comments follow the recent publication of research conducted by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, which revealed that 22 per cent of young women do not plan on having children.

Some 34 per cent of these said that they feared the impact that pregnancy would have on their figures.

A further 23 per cent stated they did not want children as they do not want to experience the pain of giving birth.
